Groundhog

The groundhog, also commonly known as the woodchuck or whistlepig, is a rodent which belongs to a family of ground squirrels called marmots. The groundhog lives throughout North America, but it's most common range is the north eastern, central and southeastern United States. By contrast to other marmots, the groundhog is a more lowland creature.
The groundhog is a burrowing creature, and is well adapted to this task with strong short limbs and thick claws. Groundhogs are capable of building extensive tunnel systems; these tunnels are where the groundhog spends most of it's life.
The groundhog is mostly a herbivore, and makes it's meals of wild grasses and other plants, but will eat snails, grubs, grasshoppers and other insects
