The white tailed deer is a medium sized deer which is native to the United States, Canada  and Mexico. Typically, males of this species weigh between 130 and 300 pounds and the female weighs between 90 and 165 pounds. Larger specimens have been recorded, however.

The diet of the white tailed deer varies from season to season, but their favorite foods include, acorns, clover, grasses, apples and commercially cultivated crops like soy beans, wheat and corn.

Typical habitat for these deer includes dense forests, partially open fields and urban areas.
