Crappie

The Crappie (sometimes pronounced /'krapi/) is a popular North American game fish in the sunfish family. Crappies inhabit slower moving waters of lakes, ponds and river. By day they are less active and tend to hover around stumps and other underwater debris. Early in the morning and in the evening crappies feed more actively and move into open water.
The crappie has a diverse diet which includes plankton, small crustaceans and small fish.
