“Hike at Mayo Park”
The Person County Recreation, Arts, and Parks Department will be sponsoring a guided hike at Mayo Park Saturday May 2, 2009 beginning at 9am. This hike will begin at the Mayo Park Ranger Station, and will continue through a planned route on the Mayo Park Trail System. This will be an interactive hike between participants and the Park Ranger.
Topics to be discussed include:
"Trees of a Typical Piedmont Forrest, and How to Identify Them."
Please wear comfortable clothing, and shoes with good support. Remember to bring your own refreshments and plenty of drinking water. It is also a good idea to bring a pair of binoculars if you have them.There is no fee for this event.
