“Hike at Mayo Park”
The Person County Recreation, Arts, and Parks Department will be sponsoring a guided hike at Mayo Park on Saturday August 1, 2009 beginning at 9:00 am. This hike will begin at the Mayo Park Ranger Station, and will continue through a planned route on the Mayo Park Trail System.
During this guided tour of the Mayo Park Trail System the ranger will discuss typical birds of the piedmont and their habitat.
Please wear comfortable clothing, and closed toe shoes with good support. Remember to bring your own refreshments and plenty of drinking water. It is also a good idea to bring a pair of binoculars if you have them. This event is offered free of charge.
