Fishing Workshops
At Mayo Park
Workshop Information
During this series taught by Mayo Park Rangers, the budding angler will learn the basics of rod and reel fishing from the bank. Participants will learn, and practice, everything from casting to knot tying to lure and bait presentation.
Live worms will be provided, but participants will need to provide any artificial lures they would like to use. Participants who do not have rods or reels may borrow one, at no charge, from Mayo Park through the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission’s Fishing Tackle Loaner Program.
Registration
There is a fee of $5.00 fee per person for residents, or $7.50 per person for non residents. This price includes all three sessions and a fishing information packet. Registration ends Monday, March 1, 2010.
Participants should have a valid North Carolina fishing license. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to participate. Youths under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult with a valid North Carolina fishing license.
