“Another Crappie Season Is Here”
The Person County Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring its 6th annual Crappie Tournament at Mayo Park on Mayo Lake. The tournament will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008. Boats will launch at 7:00 am and the weigh-in will be at 12 noon. Five fish per team will be weighed, and the total weight wins.
The entry fee for this event will be $25.00 per team and up to 5 fishermen per boat. This tournament will be based on an 80% payback. To register early, teams must do so at the Mayo Park office during regular business hours. The Early/Pre-registration deadline is Friday, April 25, 2008 at 5:00pm. No personal checks will be accepted after April 11, 2008. There will be a $10.00 late fee for teams registering the day of the event. For registration the day of the event, teams can do so at the Mayo Lake Boat landing between 6am and 6:45 am. (Cash only accepted for late registration.)

Please mail registration forms at least five days prior to tournament deadline to assure team launch time. Pre-registration can also be done at the Mayo Park office or by phone using a credit card. A $3.00 convenience charge applies to use of credit cards.
