Flag Dedication:

The Person County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans will be dedicating and raising the American flag at the new Mayo Park Environmental Education and Community Center. Members of the Person County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans will conduct a short ceremony. Person County Commissioner Kyle Puryear will be the guest speaker, and taps will be played by Conrad Kimbrough. Refreshments will follow the ceremony. This event is free and open to all, but donations will be accepted.

 

Military Exhibit:

Members of the Person County Chapter of the Disabled Veterans of America have also prepared a special exhibit featuring military memorabilia. Beginning now, and throughout the month of May, this memorabilia ranging from the Second World War to the Gulf War will be on display at the Mayo Park Environmental Education and Community Center. There is no fee to view these exhibits.
