8th Annual Mayo Park Canoe and Kayak Race
When: Saturday, July 17, 2010.
About This Event: Participants will begin at the Mayo Park Boat Landing Fishing Bank, and will race to the Bowmantown Bridge and back for an approximate distance of 2.50 miles. Gender divisions will include female, male, and mixed. Age divisions will include: 16 & under, 17-39, and 40 & over.
Registration: Early registration for Person County residents is $10.00 for residents or $15.00 for non residents. All early registrations include lunch. The first 30 pre registrations include an event tee shirt.
Registration the day of the race is $15.00 per team for residents or $20.00 for non residents, and will take place from 8:30 am to 9:45am at the Mayo Park Boat Landing. Additional lunches are $5.00 per person. Additional event tee shirts will also be for sale at the event.
Participants may register online at http://mayo.personcounty.net/, at the Mayo Park office, or by phone using a credit card. Mayo Park vessel rentals are limited to four single kayaks, two tandem kayaks, and six canoes at a cost of $5.00 per vessel for residents or $7.50 per vessel for non residents. Early registration ends July 15, 2010.
