The Mayo Park Environmental Education and Community Center

The Mayo Park Environmental Education and Community Center is a 3,798 square foot facility that will serve as Mayo Park’s center for outdoor and environmental education programming. The EECC will include exhibits, a library and research station, and will host educational, informational, and cultural programming. The EECC also houses the Mayo Park Offices, and all reservations are now handled through this facility.

 

The EECC has a 38’ x 44’ -or 1,672 square foot- community room that may be rented by the general public. From this room there is access to a warming kitchen, two large decks, and a porch that overlooks the Mayo Park Amphitheatre. Overall capacity for the EECC is 229, but the recommended capacity with tables and chairs is 150, or with chairs only is 200.

Check-out time is 1:00 pm and check-in time is 3:00 pm.

 

The maximum number of nights allowed per reservation is 7.

 

Camping Friday/Saturday:  Drop-In First Come First Served

 

 

 

 

During the the 2010 season, Mayo Park will be open for camping on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The park will be closed for camping on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings.

 

Mayo Park's main gate closes at 4 pm when there are no campers on site. When campers are on site, the gate closes at 8pm.

 

The minimum age for reserving a facility at Mayo Park is 18.

              

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be made in the name of the party making the original reservation.  The request must be in writing and received in the Recreation Office at least 14 days prior to the first date of the reserved period. 

 

REFUNDS

No refunds of a paid reservation will be made unless cancellation notice is given at least 15 days prior to the first date of the reservation.  The request must be made in the name of the person making the original reservation.  Dual names will not be accepted.  The request must be in writing, giving the camping area in which reservation has been made, the dates reserved, and the name, address of the party making the reservation, along with a copy of the receipt.  This request must be recorded in the Recreation Office no later than 14 days prior to the first date of the reservation. There will be no refund of fees if the facility is not used. Any camper abandoning a reserved facility before the reservation period ends will lose the balance of that period and the facility will be considered available for use by anyone else.

 

*There will be a Convenience fee of $3.00 for every transaction made with a credit card in person.

 Payment must be made in full at time of reservation. Cash, Checks and Credit Cards are Accepted.

 

Advanced reservations or rentals are made on a first come first served basis.

Minimum advanced reservation – 7 days

 

The 2010 camping season begins Friday, May 21, 2010. No Camping on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday evenings.

Mayo Park is open from sunrise to sunset for day use.
